H & M Duos Nail Polish Week

Around Christmas time every year H & M sell little packs of polishes as duos. They are usually pretty gorgeous and quite (for me) impossible to stay away from. Especially when they sell them half price off at the sales they have after New Years. The basic idea is that the pack contains one polish to use as base and one glitter for a topper. Even though they aren´t always a match made in heaven the individual polishes are so nice!



Weekly Polish Haul - Week 8

This week I have a cute little haul to show. The first polish I got from my mother as a gift (just a few days before my birthday on Tuesday, typical her), the second one I bought on Facebook for way too much money and the third I got from my darling. The funny thing with the little Luminelle bottle is that my husband found it in one of his Lego lots he bought on the flea market last week. We have found a lot of funny things in Lego lots before, but never before a nail polish bottle!

Nordic Cap of Sweden - NP37

 

Manicure: Isadora "Peel Off Base", two coats of "NP37" + Seche Vite.
Application: Streaky and impossible to get even.
Grade: 2

Nordic Cap of Sweden - NP27

 

Manicure: Two coats of "NP27" + Seche Vite.
Application: Really bad. Dries way too fast.
Grade: 2

Nordic Cap of Sweden - NP26

 

Manicure: Three coats of "NP26".
Application: Quite good for a budget polish.
Grade: 3

Nordic Cap of Sweden - NP10

 

Manicure: Two coats of "NP10".
Application: No problem, well worth the money.
Grade: 3

Brand Presentation - Nordic Cap of Sweden

This brand is a Swedish budget brand. Aside from nail polish they produce make up such as lip gloss and lipsticks as well as shampoo and shower cream. It is common knowledge among Swedish nail polish users that the Nordic Cap polishes are either awesome or pretty much unusable. You can have two bottles of the same type of polish and one can have a great formula while the other is quite bad. It takes a bit of luck to grab the right bottle when you are in the store! They are mostly being sold at grocery stores such as Willy´s and City Gross. I bought all of mine at my local City Gross for 10kr to 5kr (about one dollar to 50cents) per bottle. Are they worth it? I think so. Some of them really are pretty awesome.

Weekly Polish Haul - Week 7

Yesterday I went to a supposedly huge flea market event in Gothenburg. My darling and I went up early to get first in line to get fast access to all the goodies people were selling. I found absolutely nothing in there. The event was a lot smaller than I expected, half of the sellers hadn´t even unpacked their stuff yet and it was overall pretty messy. It was definitely not worth all the trouble and money we spent to get there. At the very end of our stay there I did however run into a table which had a box of nail polishes for a dollar each. Even though it didn´t exactly save the day I was happy to come back home with these beauties at least.

Application: Wonderful.
Grade: 5++ (my most favorite polish ever)

Application: Just perfect.

Glam Polish Zodiac Polish Week

I must say that with this collection Glam Polish has overdone themselves. The Zodiac polishes are store exclusive to Hypnotic Polish which is an online indie shop here in Europe based in Holland. Hypnotic Polish is a goldmine for us who cannot get indies that easily in the US. Unfortunately they have stopped retailing Glam Polish. There are twelve of these Zodiac polishes of course and I have managed to collect six of them so far. But of course I want them all!

Application: Very sheer the first coat, second coat good.

Application: Very sheer the first coat. Needs 2-3 coats to cover.
